Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman has been a distinguished professor of psychology since 1993 and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research, University of California Davis. She has been widely recognized for pioneering the study of eyewitness testimony and child witnesses in legal settings. Professor Goodman is the author of numerous research publications as well as numerous grants to her name and is the recipient of a variety of international and national distinctions. She has consulted with various countries and agencies around the world on policies as well as the study of child victimization in the court system. She is currently a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She holds memberships in many professional groups, such as the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She was a founder member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the president of American Psychological Association Divisions for Policy for Children and Families and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
